About Almas Creative Arts

Alma Lyerly and Jeanette Brown(sisters) opened Alma's Creative Arts in 2004. However, they had been teaching classes at home for a couple of years before that. Alma began sewing at age 8 and is now 84. Jeanette Brown started at age 12, but really got into it when she retired from teaching school. She is now 76. We sell fabrics, sewing notions, threads, finished pieces, but our greatest is love is teaching peopie to sew, especially young people We have beginner sewing, quilt making, hand and machine embroidery, garment construction, heirloom sewing and smocking. We do custom sewing, quilt piecing, simple quilting, We also do monograming and machine embroidery for people. We do not do alterations. We are not automatically open on Saturday, but call us for a Saturday appointment. If we are in town, we will we will be available. Read our blog and look at our pictures for more information.
